We’re a family of five and registered stud cattle producers based in Dundee, in the beautiful New England region. Our story in the beef industry spans decades, breeding Hereford cattle before formally registering Battalion Hereford Stud in 2005. As the industry evolved, so did we, and in 2016 we diversified into another rapidly rising breed with the establishment of Battalion Speckle Park Stud.

By 2019, life threw us some of its toughest challenges. With two very young children, we were facing one of the worst droughts on record, hand-feeding and watering our core stud breeding herd simply to keep them going. At the same time, our youngest child was dealing with health issues that carried the possibility of major surgery, requiring extended time away from the farm. As if that wasn’t enough, we, like many others, spent much of December battling bushfires.

Something had to give.
